An Insulated French Entry Door with Narrow Sidelights
This thermal break iron French single door with two narrow sidelights is designed for exterior entries that need natural light and better insulation, but do not have enough width for large sidelights or a double-door layout. The center door keeps daily entry simple, while the narrow sidelights add brightness and balance without making the full unit too wide.
The narrow sidelight layout is a practical choice for homes where a standard single door may look too plain, but a full double door or wide sidelight system would not fit the opening. It gives the entry a more complete look while still keeping the design compact and functional.
TFD032 is custom made and can be adjusted to fit the project. Although this product is shown as a single door with two narrow sidelights, the same style can be customized with one sidelight, wider sidelights, no sidelights, or a matching transom if the opening requires it. Size, glass finish, color, swing direction, handle style, jamb depth, sidelight width, door top design, and thermal break specifications can also be customized.
Who This Door Is Best For:
This door is best for homeowners who want a single active front door with added side light, but do not have enough width for large sidelights or a double door.
It works well for compact front entries, side entries, covered porches, and exterior openings where natural light is important but the door system still needs to stay narrow.
TFD032 is also a strong option for customers comparing thermal break front doors, iron doors with sidelights, insulated steel French doors, and custom iron entry doors for colder or high-temperature-change areas.
FAQ:
Why choose narrow sidelights instead of standard-width sidelights?
Narrow sidelights add light and balance without requiring as much wall opening width. They are a good choice when the entry needs more presence than a single door alone, but the space is not wide enough for large sidelights.
What does thermal break mean?
Thermal break means the frame includes a low-conductive barrier between the exterior and interior sides of the metal frame. This helps reduce heat transfer through the door structure.
Can the sidelight width be customized?
Yes. The sidelight width can be adjusted based on the rough opening, entry proportions, and customer preference.
Can this design be made with only one sidelight?
Yes. The same style can be customized with one sidelight if the opening is narrower or if the customer wants an asymmetrical layout.
