What Are Wrought Iron Doors?

Wrought iron doors are entry doors made from heavy-duty iron and steel, often paired with glass panels to bring in natural light. They are valued for their durability, security, and distinctive appearance. Whether used on traditional, Mediterranean, farmhouse, or modern homes, wrought iron doors create a strong first impression while providing long-lasting performance.

Why Choose Custom Wrought Iron Entry Doors?

Every home is unique, and a custom wrought iron door allows you to create an entrance that complements your space and style while maintaining the security and durability you need.
From door size and glass type to decorative details, finish colors, and hardware, each element can be customized to match your home's architecture. Custom iron doors are also a practical choice when standard sizes are not suitable. They provide the flexibility to achieve the look you want without compromising on fit, function, or quality.

Single vs. Double Wrought Iron Doors

The right choice depends on the size of your entryway and the look you want to achieve.

Single iron doors are a popular choice for many homes. They offer a clean, balanced appearance. Single doors are also typically more budget-friendly than double doors due to the smaller size.

If your opening is too wide for a single door but not large enough for a double door, adding a sidelight can be an excellent solution, which can enhance the overall appearance of the entryway.

Double iron doors create a wider, more open entrance and are often chosen for larger homes or grand entryways. They allow for easier access when moving large items and can make the front of a home feel more inviting and impressive. For homeowners looking to make a statement, double doors are often the preferred choice.

Standard vs. Thermal Break Iron Doors

This collection includes the standard iron doors(basic insulation). They are a durable and cost-effective option, making them suitable for mild climates where temperature differences between indoors and outdoors are less extreme.

Thermal break iron doors include an insulated barrier between the interior and exterior steel frames. This barrier helps reduce heat transfer, improving energy efficiency and interior comfort.

Thermal break doors are especially recommended for regions with hot summers, cold winters, or significant temperature fluctuations. They can help minimize condensation, reduce energy loss, and improve the overall performance of the door. If you need a thermal break door, pls review the Thermal Break Doors Collection.

Frequently asked questions

Need help choosing the right wrought iron door? Contact us for a free drawing and custom quote.

  • All our iron doors come pre-hung, meaning the unit size includes the jambs and threshold as a complete door system. We recommend measuring brick-to-brick to determine the rough opening (width × height), and we will then quote the appropriate door unit size accordingly.

  • A prehung door includes the door slab, frame, hinges, weather stripping and is pre-assembled for installation. Optional hardware can also be included upon request.

  • We do not offer installation services at this time. We recommend hiring a local professional installer to ensure proper fit, sealing, and long-term performance.

  • If you live in areas with extreme temperatures (very hot or cold), a thermal break is highly recommended for better energy efficiency and comfort.
