An Insulated Arched French Door for Brighter Exterior Entries

This thermal break arched 3 lite steel French double door with clear glass is the insulated version of the FD311 design. It keeps the same clean arched profile and 3-lite glass layout, but adds a thermal break frame for projects that need better insulation than a standard non-thermal-break iron or steel door.

The arched top gives the entry a softer architectural shape, while the clear glass brings natural light into the foyer. The 3-lite layout adds structure without making the door look too busy, making this design a good fit for front entries, covered porches, and exterior openings where homeowners want both light and a cleaner French door appearance.

This design is custom made. Although the photo shows an arched double-door layout without sidelights or a transom, the same style can be customized as a single door, a wider double door, or a full entry system with matching sidelights or a transom. Size, glass finish, color, swing direction, handle style, door top design, jamb depth, and thermal break specifications can also be customized.

Who This Door Is Best For:
This door is best for homeowners who like the FD311 arched French door style but need improved insulation for an exterior entry.

It is especially suitable for colder states, windy locations, or homes where indoor comfort and reduced heat transfer are important. It also works well for customers comparing thermal break French doors, insulated steel French doors, and custom iron front doors.

This design is a strong choice for covered front porches and exterior entries where the customer wants clear glass, a black steel-frame look, and a cleaner 3-lite layout without sidelights or a transom.

FAQ:
How is TFD311 different from FD311?
TFD311 is the thermal break version of the FD311 design. It keeps the same arched 3-lite French double door style, but uses a thermal break frame to help reduce heat transfer.

What does thermal break mean?
Thermal break means the frame includes a low-conductive barrier between the exterior and interior sides of the door. This helps reduce the transfer of heat or cold through the metal frame.

Is TFD311 better for cold weather than the standard FD311?
Yes. If the door will be installed in a colder climate or a location with large temperature changes, the thermal break version is a better choice than a standard non-thermal-break steel or iron door.

Can this style be made as a single door?
Yes. The same arched 3-lite design can be customized as a single door, double door, or larger entry system depending on the project opening.
